Meet Kelsey
Do you have a little one or teen at home who has big emotions? Do you feel like they go from 0 to 100 in the matter of seconds and you’re at a loss of how to support them? Or maybe they seem to struggle with making and keeping friends. Hi! My name is Kelsey Vanoverbeke and I am a registered social worker with a passion in supporting and teaching little ones and teens how to regulate their emotions. Life is busy, fun and full of opportunities to learn and grow, especially for our children. Life has so many beautiful moments but it also has moments of stress, anxiety, and dysregulation. I’m here to help you and your child navigate those difficult moments and learn some skills along the way to reduce those unpleasant moments. I want to help little ones, teens and parents build resiliency to difficult moments and be able to face adversity with tools that reduce unpleasant feelings.
My education includes an Honours undergraduate degree in Social Work with a minor in psychology. In addition, I have obtained certification in Cognitive Behavioural therapy, Dialectical Behaviour therapy, and have education in Play therapy and Art therapy. I use all of these approaches in my practice tailored to your child's learning style to ensure growth and development. After all, research says kids learn best through play!
I want to help support parents, children and teens, in creating balance, stability, positive communication and overall well-being. I provide a non-judgmental, safe space to work collaboratively and effectively to reach your goals.

In my spare time, you’ll find me hanging out with my husband outdoors hunting, fishing or playing sports. If I’m not doing that, you can find me with my friends and family. I believe self-care and informal positive support systems are paramount in maintaining our mental health and implemented in my overall therapeutic approach.

I look forward to supporting you and your family the best way I can!
