Meet Bakhtawar

Bakhtawar Riaz is a first-year Master of Social Work (MSW) student at King’s University College. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Science from Trent University and a postgraduate certificate in Addictions and Mental Health Counselling, as well as a professional certificate in Family Mediation. Bakhtawar has experience working with marginalized communities across the justice, housing, and employment sectors, and her work is informed by training in trauma-informed care and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She is passionate about supporting children and families and is committed to continuing to develop her skills in a counselling setting.
