Meet Christine
Christine Loveday
RP (Qualifying), CCLS, MACP
Hello, I’m Christine! I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and a Certified Child Life Specialist. I practice from a client-centred lens, believing that the provision of a soft, empathetic, and trusting therapeutic relationship provides children, adolescents, and families with the space to explore challenges, recognize strengths already available, and develop the skills, understanding, and insight to cultivate hope and healing. I appreciate the complex interconnection of our physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual selves and seek to use integrative approaches that are responsive to each client’s goals and identified needs.

I am a mother to three high school and elementary aged kids. I am sensitive to the many factors that can make it a struggle to cope as a child or teenager as well as the challenges and feelings of overwhelm that can accompany one’s parenting journey. I seek to work collaboratively with families, recognizing the vulnerability and courage that it takes to seek
support.

I have 17 years of experience working as a child life specialist in hospital-based pediatric health care, supporting children and their families through illness and associated medical experiences, developing emotional regulation and coping strategies, and supporting families in life adjustment, grief, and loss. This experience informs my approach as a therapist as I seek to support the anxiety and adjustment that often coexists in the context of illness and grief. I also seek to support children and teens through the challenges encountered in school, family life, and life events.
I bring the experience of a trauma-informed, developmental approach to my counselling, incorporating evidence based strategies, play-based interventions, and a strengths-based approach. I often find myself humbled to witness the courage and resiliency within children, teens, and their families that strengthens when partnered with compassionate individualized support.

I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and your family.
