Meet Nic D.
BSW RSW

Hello, my name is Nic (she/they)! I'm a Registered Social Worker living in London, ON. I have diverse experience working in community practice supporting children, youth, and adults with complex mental health and substance use concerns. Some of my experience includes supporting folks struggling with trauma impacts, emotional dysregulation, self-harm behaviours, anxiety, low mood, interpersonal relationships, substance use disorders, gender identity, sexual orientation, neurodivergence, experiences of intimate partner/gender based violence, and more. As a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, I’m passionate about supporting queer folks in a therapeutic environment. I take a holistic, person-centred approach to therapy and wholeheartedly believe, with compassionate support and guidance, you can create a life worth living.
I obtained my Bachelor's of Social Work (BSW) with a minor in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies from King's University College at Western University in 2022. Currently, I am completing my Master's of Social Work (MSW) degree through the University of Windsor with an expected completion by December 2025.
I have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy. My therapeutic interventions can be described as eclectic, drawing from several modalities to create collaborative treatment plans that best suit the needs and goals of my clients. I’m confident in approaches focused around mindfulness and radical acceptance. I strive to foster a space that is safe and nonjudgmental for folks to explore parts of themselves they may not have had the space to before.
In my spare time, I can often be found spending time with my fiancé and our fur babies, reading, drawing, and practicing tarot. I love connecting with nature and learning more about myself everyday. I look forward to supporting you and your family in this journey of healing and capacity building.
