Groups and Workshops
Kids Zen is passionate about using our experience, knowledge, and specialties to assist and support families in a number of different ways. We cannot stress enough that we are here to help! Community is a powerful tool, and our groups and workshops bring people together that might be facing some of the very same challenges. We are thrilled to be offering yet another stream of support to our clients and their families.
Social Skills Group
Kids Zen is excited to announce our upcoming eight-session social skills group with Lego for kids aged 7-9 years.
We will be offering an evidence-based group for children struggling with social skills. While social difficulties vary with each child, it can include feeling fearful in new situations, difficulty performing/presenting in class, social unease, overwhelming worries, and difficulty in problem-solving and working as a team.

This group will provide a warm and welcoming space to engage socially with other peers while using Lego to facilitate and support a variety of different social skills. Parents will be provided information about how the group is supporting social skills and specific aspects that will be focused on within the group.

Throughout each week, we will use a variety of evidence-based tools and skills to support development in the ability to work within a team, enhance communication skills and problem-solving abilities, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. The group will be utilizing Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), somatic therapy and mindfulness practices. Each session will also incorporate creativity and play as participants gain agency and awareness of their thoughts, behaviours, and coping tools.
