Hello, I’m Julia!

 

I’m a second-year Master of Social Work (MSW) student at King’s University College, with an undergraduate degree in Child and Youth Care from Toronto Metropolitan University. I bring six years of experience as a Child and Youth Counsellor in healthcare settings. Currently working on an inpatient psychiatric unit, I focus on building strong therapeutic relationships while supporting children and adolescents in developing practical coping, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance skills.

 

I want to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and understood, and where you feel comfortable sharing what you’re going through without fear of judgement. I approach my work from a person-centred, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed perspective, while recognizing that everyone’s experiences and needs are different.

 

I’m excited to work together to unpack and navigate whatever challenges you may be facing. We can take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you!  I look forward to meeting you where you’re at and working collaboratively with you toward the goals that are meaningful to you!
